  What If...
by Sharon Crosby

The two words "What if..." can be either empowering or disempowering depending on how it is used.

If those two wors are used to worry about what might happen then it is disempowering. Examples of this is saying,
"What if I let go fo this and I need it later?"

A way to turn that around so it will empower is to say something like this instead, "If I don't have this and end up needing it what can I do instead? What if use such 'n' such as a substiture. Or what if I..."

In other words when you use the words what if to inspire creative solutions you have gained power.

When it comes to clutter "What if.." is too often used out of fear. That is, disempowering to the self. We ask ourselves, "What if I need it someday?" and don't give ourselves the benefit of the doubt that we can and will
find a way to cope or even rise above the situation without it.
